The Kingdom of Swaziland is one of the best and rarest examples of an entire country living in the old African traditions and beliefs. Add this to some of the most breathtaking landscapes in our region, excellent climate and infinite number of off-road trails and tracks, we believe this is a recipe for a fantastic weekend 4X4 outing.
We will have the opportunity to navigate an amazing scenic route which will include a drive in the Colo River and up the hills to experience the magnificent views. On the second day we will be visiting the Ntungulu Protected Landscape with a picnic next to the Ngwempisi River. The picnic area is accessed by undertaking a fantastic off road adventure. The challenging 4-5 hour 4x4 drive includes some excellent opportunities for small river crossings, rock climbs and axel twisters.
Other activities and excursions during this fun filled weekend will be a visit to Swazi Candles (This unique tourist attraction is situated in a farmhouse environment where Swazi craftsmen and woman mould each candle to its unique and individual shape), Baobab Batik (Baobab Batik is a truly different kind of business to share in Swaziland's spirit of batik making) and the Mantenga Craft Centre (Mantenga Craft boasts a diverse range of art and craft outlets, which retail a variety of home furnishings, clothing, toys and gift items to suit everyone's needs). Our return journey will also take in a visit at the Ngwenya Glass Factory (Ngwenya - Siswati name for 'crocodile', A small group of Swazi craftsmen and woman breath life into enchanting interpretations of animals and birds of Africa, imbuing each with its own irresistible personality).
